Provincial and territorial premiers signed a new Apprentice Mobility Protocol on July 16, 2015 at the annual summer meeting of Canada's Premiers. The Protocol will provide apprentices with a national certification to work across Canada as all provinces and territorial will recognize apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship training completed in the same trade in another jurisdiction. By reducing mobility barriers, the Protocol will help Canada meet its growing demand for skilled tradespeople.
