SCHOLARSHIPS

The NNCA created a Building Capacity fund in 2014 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the NWT’s Apprenticeship Program.  This fund resulted in three (3) Apprenticeship Scholarships to support students enrolled in a construction-related apprenticeship program and working for a member company. Fortunately, we have been able to secure sufficient funds each year since to offer three (3) scholarships per year. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to making our scholarship program a success.

Apprenticeship Scholarships for the 2017/18 Technical Training year

The NNCA is happy to announce that we raised sufficient funds to offer three (3) Apprenticeship Scholarships over the coming technical training year. Each scholarship is valued at $1600 and is intended to support apprentices registered in a trade and completing their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year training during the 2017/18 technical training year.

These scholarships are available to apprentices working for and returning to work (post-technical training) for NNCA Members. Click here for the application and feel free to contact us, via e-mail or phone 867.873.3949, to learn more.

Application deadlines are as follows:

  • 4pm MT, Wednesday, October 25, 2017;
  • 4pm MT, Wednesday, December 13, 2017; and
  • 4pm MT, Wednesday, February 14, 2018.

The deadlines are staggered to reflect the fact that apprentices may be participating in training at different times during the year. For the purposes of this scholarship, the technical training year is August 1, 2017 to July 31, 2018.
